How to Create and Use an Auto-Reply E-Mail

If you are on any automatic mailing lists doing this may create a viscious cycle of emails potentially overloading both systems. Theoretically you may be able to create another rule to deal with this. One way may be to create a temporary "Do not download from server" rule for those messages that you turn on when you are gone. Then only use your auto reply only when you are gone for extended periods.

Stop processing rules.

Ideally it may be best to have those types of emails come to a different email address then your regular business emails.
This step may be a Black Diamond move!. If you don't understand why this works or how, you should probably not try it!

Here is how you turn rules on and off.

ON-OFF Switch

Make sure your "auto-reply" is your last or almost last rule.
